When we choose a laser level, we should consider several aspects. Only by choosing a suitable laser level can we get twice the result with half the effort.
1. Color
There are three colors of laser levels to choose from. The red laser level has a relatively low accuracy and a width of about 2mm, which is more suitable for indoor use. Whether it is indoors or outdoors, the green laser level allows you to use it freely and solve your construction level problems. The width is also about 2mm. The full name of the blue laser level is OSRAM Blue Light. Its characteristic is that it is thin, with a width of about 1.5mm, and it works better indoors. If your construction range is indoors, I recommend blue light. If there is outdoor, it is better to use green light.
2. Classification of the number of lines
2-line, 3-line, and 5-line are called green light laser levels, and 8-line/12-line are called 3D levels, also called wall-mounted instruments. For the same product, the more lines, the more expensive it is. In terms of cost performance, it depends on what we use it for. Then choose a laser level.
3. Introduction to usage and cost-effectiveness
(1) If it is for home use and decoration, a 2-line level is sufficient. And because it is indoors, if you consider the economy, the red line is sufficient. Of course, a 3-line level is better, because it has an additional vertical line, which makes it more accurate.
(2) If it is for laying floor tiles, carpenters use it. Considering cost-effectiveness, a 3-line level is sufficient, because laying floor tiles generally considers horizontality, and a 3-line level is sufficient in the vertical direction.
(3) If it is for wall construction, it is recommended to use a green light 5-line level, because the horizontal and vertical requirements of the wall corners are relatively high, and the wall cannot be built crooked, so a 5-line level is sufficient; the above are all analyzed from the perspective of usage and cost-effectiveness.
So, where is the 3D level used? There are two types. One is for engineering, which will eventually be delivered, and the engineering team will buy a 3D level. At present, there are more than just the 8/12-line level I introduced, and you can choose according to your needs.
When we choose to buy a laser level, we must buy it according to our actual needs, find out the difference between the red laser level and the green laser level, and then buy it!
